Dining At The Summer Isles Hotel
The Summer Isles Hotel and Restaurant has been a “destination hotel” for many decades. Our stunning location and the quality of our food are the two key reasons that guests choose to visit the hotel and – in many cases – return year-after-year. We have access to wonderful local ingredients and are heavily influenced by our coastal surroundings.
For the 2019 season, we have decided to combine our restaurant and bar kitchens which is a significant move as the business evolves to meet the needs of our guests. We will be able to offer increased choice of menu, greater flexibility for bookings and improved levels of service. Our overriding objective is to make the changes described above without compromise to the quality of food on offer.
Our chefs have the skill, vision and passion to create a single evening menu that will change with the seasons and reflect the finest local ingredients. There will be daily “specials” that make the most of the deliveries received from our local suppliers – in particular the fishermen. Local food will also be at the heart of the lunch menu with lunches served in the bar only.
In the evening, guests have the choice of dining in our restaurant or bar. Our restaurant is a beautiful and airy room with wonderful views towards the Summer Isles. The atmosphere is smart but relaxed and most guests take the opportunity to enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the lounge. Eating in the bar is a more informal experience with the opportunity to meet the local community and enjoy a fine range of ales. Since 2018, the bar has been dog-friendly which has been a great success.
The bar is open from noon and takes lunch orders from 12:00 to 14:30. In the evening, both restaurant and bar take dinner orders from 18:00 to 21:00.
For over 25 years, our wines have been supplied by Corney and Barrow who are one of the oldest independent wine merchants in the UK. We pride ourselves in the quality and depth of cellar that has been created. Our house wines have been selected with great care and some imagination as we are keen to provide our guests with a choice of wines that is a little different during their visit to the Highlands.
